We’re very lucky as women in the 21st century to be able to have the freedom that are ancestors before us didn’t. While there is still misogyny alive and well in the world, feminism and new wave feminism has allowed us to blossom into powerful glamazonians that are a force to be reckoned with.

One of the things that is really liberating about being a women in the modern age, is the fact that we can embrace our womanhood and enhance our beauty without being ridiculed or labelled as something nefarious. It’s thanks to this freedom that the beauty business is booming, making billions of dollars year on year. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not easy to break into it, but once you do get a big break, it can reap very generous rewards.

An Industry Ruled by Women

Being a beauty entrepreneur is a tough role to take on, but more people than ever are taking advantage of a booming industry. At least 40 percent of all major beauty brands that are in the start up phase are founded by women.

That’s not surprising of course, given that 90% of all buyers and users of the beauty industry are women, so who better to develop and market the products than the exact demographic that they are selling to?

Such is the case of Dr. Nina Naidu, a plastic surgeon from The States, who is a woman bringing dreams alive by helping women to realise their true beauty potential by sensitively enhancing what God gave them.

That’s right, you don’t have to just use make up anymore, and these days, it’s perfectly acceptable to go under the knife to improve self esteem and improve looks. Sur there is still some stigma surrounding the fact, but, the beauty (if you excuse the pun) of being a woman in the modern age is that you’re allowed not to care at all!

Making Big Money

It’s not even just a case of female empowerment, the beauty industry is one of the biggest businesses in the world, making more than $445 billion in sales EVERY year. And that number has only been increasing year on year.

There is always gaps in the market too, just when you think there is nothing more that the industry can do or create, someone identifies a blank space that is just crying out to be filled. And filled it does get, from magnetic eyelashes to Brazilian bum lifts, just when you thought things were weird, they get weirder.

The Future of Beauty

Who knows what the beauty industry holds in the future. Only one thing’s for sure, it’s here to stay. The industry has been going for years and it’s not stopping. Women will always want to be beautiful and business will always take advantage of that.
